“Shm’ecl is nothing. It is a void and nothing else. They gave me Shm’ecl, a punishment for my wrong against mankind, and four centuries to think about what I had done. However, think I did not, but dream I did. I woke and slept at normal intervals, finding that when I did wake, Shm’ecl was a little brighter, a little more colorful. Was it because my dreams had been so; colorful and bright and brimming with light? To test the theory, I made myself sleep an entire day and dream of my own land to govern, one where I could shape any and everything.”
Who knew that dreams opened doors?
“Through that dream I discovered my powers, how they had been altered since coming to Shm’ecl. My dreams created the land, the trees and the water, the sand and the dirt. I was so amazed that I spent weeks walking along the earth, memorizing every aspect of it that I wished to change when I slept that evening. And in the morning, there it was, just as I dreamed it. However, Ahnmik, was barren and lonely, without wildlife. Yet, could I make animals to populate my lonely existence?”
Her varg are her only salvation, her only link to sanity.
“I remembered the wolves in the Living Realm, the powerful canines that humans were just trying to tame and Nathaniel and I had loved watching in the wild. When I dreamt, I dreamt of them to be the predators of Ahnmik. I could watch and guide them and forget about the past. I would name them Varg and they would be my sons and daughters as I never had.”[/SIZE]
